Q&A With Kenny Chan, Integrated Graphic Designer
Meet Halo’s Integrated Graphic Designer Kenny Chan: Passionate designer, Hong Kong native for 13 years, and parent to two adorable kids dogs.
Q: How did you get into this business?
A: I went to school as a graphic designer and I interned for a few agencies while I was in college to get some real world experience. Luckily, that was the route I wanted for my career and most importantly, I love what I do.
Q: If you didn’t work in the marketing world, what would you be doing?
A: I think I would continue to be a professional photographer, shoot cars for magazines, weddings, and models.
Q: Why did you decide to go into marketing/PR/creative/etc?
A: We revolve in design everyday, whether from magazines we read, websites, and more. I wanted to be a print/web designer/developer so I can design, develop, create a seamless UI/UX for users, and inspire.
Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: I am a very independent and hands-on person. I do all the housework, cleaning, laundry, and cooking, like a housewife.
Q: Have you ever lived outside of the US?
A: Yes. I lived in Hong Kong for 13 years, Canada for a few months when I was 11, then officially moved to NY when I was 14. I lived alone while my parents stayed in Hong Kong. That’s how I learned to be independent.
Q: What’s one thing you can’t live without?
A: Not sure. I think I can live without Internet or my phone. I adapt quickly to new environments.
Q: What’s your favorite book?
A: I don’t read many books and get bored easily when I see too much text. Usually, I read things online or magazines.
Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was a waiter during high school to support myself.
Q: What are you into right now?
A: My career and my future.
Q: What advice do you have for a client when working with their agency?
A: Be flexible while following brand standards. Trust our expertise–we are your problem solver.
Q: Why would a client love you or maybe just want to work with you?
A: I am passionate about everything I do, love to learn, and I am perfectionist.
Q: Do you have a pet?
A: Yes I have two. They’re like my kids. Check them out below.
