Marketing Buzzwords to Look Out For in 2015

New year, new buzzwords

A new year can mean a lot of things. It can mean a new start, a new wardrobe, a new outlook, a new resolution to (hopefully) commit to, and it can even mean a new vocabulary. We at The Halo Group keep up to date with trends, especially when it comes to anything that helps us communicate clearly in such a rapidly changing industry. We want to recognize some buzzwords that we feel will be making a new start in 2015:

Omnichannel Retailing

A sales approach that encompasses brick and mortar, social media, online and mobile into a seamless retail experience for the consumer.

Co-opetion

It is cooperative competition. Companies of all sizes are working together to explore best practices, most commonly, social responsibility, while still competing.

Athliesure

This is a new category of ‘cute- enough-for-brunch’ active-wear, which is already making a massive impact. Sales in this category have exploded in the US hitting $33.6 billion in 2014. They have outsold jeans by $17.6 billion. A nice little hybrid of athletic and leisure wear…if only it were work appropriate.

Conversation marketing

Two-way dialogue between brand and consumer, as opposed to pushing out information. This is an alternative to the word ‘engagement’.

Pinfluencers

A pinfluencer or a Pinterest influencer, is someone with a high ranking or regard on Pinterest. With this this position they choose to market certain companies or products to followers and fellow Pinfluencers.

In a world where one second something is ‘in’ and the next second that same thing is ‘out’, it is nice to be updated. Now there is an easy and fun way to do it. Download the Halossary App and keep up with the latest buzzwords. We are constantly updating and, with our special in app feature, you can add words, too. We challenge you to expand your vocabulary in 2015 by using the words above and by checking out some of the others in the app.
